Selecting Roles for a Policy

A role is a closed, predefined list of actions that users can perform in VoiceAI Connect, for example, viewing alarms.

To select a role:
1. In the Policies page under the Visual Editor tab, click the Add button shown in the next figure.

2. Under the Visual Editor tab (selected by default), do the following:
From the Roles drop-down list, select the Roles for the Policy. They're described in this table:

View the existing Bot configuration (Bots page in Web UI)

VAIC/BOTS/WRITE

Add, update and delete the Bot configuration (Bots page in Web UI)

Note: For 'WRITE' roles, you must also select 'READ'. For example, to configure Bots, select both BOT/READ and BOT/WRITE.

VAIC/PROVIDERS/READ

View the existing provider’s configuration (Providers page in Web UI)

VAIC/PROVIDERS/WRITE

Add, update and delete the provider’s configuration (Providers page in Web UI)

Note: For 'WRITE' roles, you must also select 'READ'. For example, to configure Bots, select both BOT/READ and BOT/WRITE.

VAIC/BOTS/DIALOUT

Make outbound calls (using REST API)

VAIC/CALLS/READ

View calls history (Call History page in Web UI).

Note: For 'WRITE' roles, you must also select 'READ'. For example, to configure Bots, select both BOT/READ and BOT/WRITE.

VAIC/CALLS/TRANSCRIPTS/READ

View calls transcripts (Call History page in Web UI)

VAIC/GRAFANA/ADMIN

Give the enterprise admin access to Grafana in which they can:

add users
monitor Grafana
make any change in Grafana

VAIC/GRAFANA/EDITOR

Give the regular enterprise admin or the user access to Grafana with monitoring capability and the ability to make limited changes in Grafana.

VAIC/GRAFANA/VIEWER

Give the user access to Grafana with monitoring capability only. Without this role, the user will not see the VAIC-E menu option Monitor.

VAIC/CALLS/SIPLADDER/READ

View calls SIP ladder (using REST API)

VAIC/ALARMS/READ

View active alarms (Active Alarms page in Web UI) and alarms history (History Alarms page in Web UI)

VAIC/ACTIVITY/READ

View activity log (Activity Log page in Web UI)

For write roles, you must also include the corresponding read role. For example, for write privileges to a bot, you must select both VAIC/BOTS/WRITE and VAIC/BOTS/READ.

3. Define a scope for the role as shown here.
4. Under the Action group, click Allow or Deny to allow or deny this role-scope entry.
5. Click Save & Apply Policy.
6. Repeat the previous steps to add additional role-scope entries.
