Extended Media Retention
By default, if recording of video and screen sharing is enabled for an Interaction Insights or Dedicated Interaction Insights service tenant, the recorded media is retained for 180 days (six months). Customers may wish to retain these recordings for a prolonged period, for example, to meet compliance requirements. For these customers, the tenant administrator can allow the extension of media retention (in cold storage) in 6-month increments, within the following limits:
| ■ | For systems with fixed audio retention – up to 2 years of total extension |
| ■ | For systems with unlimited audio retention – up to 7 years of total extension |
In the end-customer Interaction Insights web portal, to apply an extended retention period to video and screenshare recordings, the customer specifies the desired period in the recording profile associated with the related users.
| ● | Extending media retention does not modify or delete existing data, only postpone its expiration date. |
| ● | Decreasing retention is not allowed if recordings already exist under a longer retention setting. This prevents unintended deletion of active recordings. |
