Uploading a Voice Prompts File
The Voice Prompts (VP) file contains a set of voice prompts (or announcements) and/or .wav files that can be played by the device. You need to prepare the voice prompts offline using standard, third-party recording utility, and then combine them into a single file using AudioCodes DConvert utility. You can then upload the file to the device using the Web interface.
You must record the raw data files with the following properties:
|
■
|
Coders: Linear G.711 A-law or G.711 µ-law |
When the recorded files are converted into a single file (voiceprompts.dat), each voice prompt is tagged with an ID number, starting from "1". The ID is later used by the device to play the correct voice prompt. You can define up to 1,000 voice prompts. If the size of the combined file is less than 1 MB, it can be permanently stored on flash memory. Larger files (up to 10 MB) are stored in RAM and you should upload it again after the device restarts.
The device can be provided with a professionally recorded English (U.S.) voice prompt file.
