Locking and Unlocking Media Components
When you lock a Media Component, the Cluster Manager stops allocating new transcoding sessions to it. You can lock the Media Component "gracefully", whereby the Cluster Manager allows the Media Component to continue processing currently active transcoding sessions for a user-defined time (graceful timeout). For more information on graceful timeout, see Configuring Graceful Timeout. Unlocking a Media Component takes the Media Component out of locked state and allows the Cluster Manager to start allocating new transcoding sessions to the Media Component.
You cannot do any administrative actions on locked Media Components (restart, edit, delete, or software upgrade).
