Step 3: Configure Media Component with Cluster Interface

Once you have configured the Media Component's OAMP interface (if required), you need to configure it with a Cluster interface.

The Cluster interface must be in the same subnet as its corresponding Cluster interface on the SBC device.

To configure the Media Component with a Cluster interface:
1. Access the Media Component's Web interface.
2. In the Physical Ports table (see Configuring Physical Ethernet Ports), configure the port (e.g., "GE 3") with a speed and duplex mode:

3. In the Ethernet Groups table (see Configuring Ethernet Port Groups), assign the Ethernet port to an Ethernet Group (e.g., "Group 2"):

4. In the Ethernet Devices table (see Configuring Underlying Ethernet Devices), configure an Ethernet Device by assigning it the Ethernet Group and configuring a VLAN ID (e.g., "vlan 2"):

5. Open the IP Interfaces table (see Configuring IP Network Interfaces), and then configure a Cluster interface with 'Application Type' Cluster and assigned the Ethernet Device (e.g., "vlan 2") that you configured in the previous step:

Configure the Cluster interface with an IPv4 address only.

6. Click Apply, and then restart the device with a save-to-flash for your settings to take effect.
