Adding SNMP Users
If SNMP is not being used, you should disable it (see Enabling or Disabling SNMP).
If you're using SNMP, SNMPv3 must be enforced by adding at least one SNMPv3 user (see Configuring SNMP Community Strings). When adding SNMPv3 users, configure the following:
■
Configure the 'Authentication Protocol' field to SHA-1. |
■
Configure the 'Privacy Protocol' field to AES-128. |
■
Configure the 'Authentication Key' and 'Privacy Key' fields with values containing at least two characters from each of the four groups (uppercase, lowercase, digits and special characters). In other words, a minimum of eight characters in size. |
