Configuring Names for FXS Ports

You can configure names for the device's FXS ports. The configured name appears as a tooltip when you hover your mouse over the FXS port icon.

The port name can contain only the following characters:

● Alphanumerical characters (0-9, a-z, A-Z)
● Underscores (_)
● No spaces
➢ To configure a port description:
1. Open the Port Status page (see Viewing Status of FXS Ports).
2. From the drop-down list, select the required FXS blade.
3. Click the required port icon; the Channel ID dialog box appears.
4. In the 'Rename Channel' field, type a name for the port, and then click Rename Channel:

A message appears at the bottom of the page informing you that the port name was successfully changed.
