Disabling Password Obfuscation

If you want to disable password obfuscation, you need to delete (clear) the encryption key. You can do this using various methods.

To clear (disable) password obfuscation:
Web interface:
a. Open the Security Settings page (Setup menu > IP Network tab > Security folder > Security Settings).
b. Scroll down the page to the Encryption Key group:

c. Click the Clear Encryption Key button.
CLI: configure network > security-settings > encryption-key clear
Configuration Package File:
a. Download the encrypted Configuration Package file and unzip it (see Downloading or Uploading Configuration Package File).
b. Open the encryption.key file, delete the key, and then save the empty file.
c. Compress all the files in the unzipped folder into a 7-Zip archive file, and then upload it to the device encrypted.
