Configuring SNMP Community String for Traps

You can configure a unique password-like community string for SNMP traps. The device sends the traps with this community string.

The valid value is a string of up to 30 characters that can include only the following:

Uppercase letters (A to Z)
Lowercase letters (a to z)
Numbers (0 to 9)
Hyphen (-)
Underline (_)
The community string value cannot contain the following:
Wide characters
Spaces
If you don't configure a trap community string, the default community string is “trapuser”.
To configure community string for traps:
1. Open the SNMP Settings page (Setup menu > Administration tab > SNMP folder > SNMP Settings).
