Configuring the Azure Maps Account

UMP-365 can use an Azure Maps account to look up and validate emergency addresses. When an Azure Maps account is configured, the Lookup Coordinates and Open Map Picker options are available when adding an emergency address to a customer tenant (see Adding Emergency Addresses to Microsoft Teams). If Azure Maps is not configured, operators must enter the latitude and longitude of each address manually.

The Azure Maps account is configured once, in the multitenant portal, and is used for all customer tenants. UMP-365 supports two authentication modes:

■ Shared Key: UMP-365 authenticates with an Azure Maps subscription key.
■ SAS Token: UMP-365 uses an Azure AD (Entra ID) App Registration to obtain short-lived SAS tokens for the Azure Maps account. This avoids storing a long-lived subscription key.
