cellular-network

This command defines the cellular network technology and restricts the cellular module to operate in 5G Non-Standalone (NSA) or 5G Standalone (SA) mode.

Syntax

cellular-network {disable-nr5g-mode|tech}

Command

Description

disable-nr5g-mode {nsa|sa}

Restricts the Mediant 5G-EA and Mediant 5G-EA-G cellular module to operate in 5G Non-Standalone (NSA) or 5G Standalone (SA) mode.

nsa: Disables NSA and restricts operation to SA.
sa: Disables SA and restricts operation to NSA.

Note:

By default, both modes are enabled and the module automatically chooses a mode according to the cellular network.
For more information on the Mediant 5G-EA and Mediant 5G-EA-G external cellular modules, refer to the document Mediant 5G-EA and 5G-EA-G Cellular Module Hardware Installation and Configuration Guide.

tech {e-utran|ng-ran|ng-ran_e-utran|ng-ran_e-utran_utran|ng-ran_utran|utran|utran_e-utran}

Defines the cellular technology (5G, LTE, or 3G) for the Mediant 5G-EA and Mediant 5G-EA-G cellular module.

e-utran:E-UTRAN (LTE) only
ng-ran: NG-RAN (5G) only
ng-ran_e-utran: NG-RAN (5G) and E-UTRAN (LTE)
ng-ran_e-utran_utran: (Default) NG-RAN (5G), E-UTRAN (LTE) and UTRAN (3G)
ng-ran_utran: NG-RAN (5G) and UTRAN (3G)
utran: UTRAN (3G) only
utran_e-utran: UTRAN (3G) and E-UTRAN (LTE)

Note

This command is applicable only to data-router functionality.

Example

This example configures the cellular technology as NG-RAN (5G):

(conf-cellular-0/0)# cellular-network tech ng-ran
