Recommendations Before Upgrading

Before upgrading the device, it's recommended to do the following:

Make sure that the device's License Key is compatible with the software version to which you want to upgrade the device (see License Key).

Enable the Graceful Lock feature (see Locking and Unlocking the Device) because the device restarts at the end of the software upgrade process, terminating all active calls. The Graceful Lock feature minimizes traffic disruption by blocking the establishment of new calls.

Back up the device's configuration to your computer. If an upgrade failure occurs (for whatever reason), you can restore configuration by uploading the backup file to the device. For more information, see Downloading and Uploading Configuration Files.
