Fiber Network Card Support

Fiber network cards are supported by configuration options B and C (see Network Configurations).

Fiber Network cards must be ordered from AudioCodes.

You can achieve configuration option B in two ways:

Method 1: Initially order Mediant 9080C with configuration option B.
Method 2: Initially order Mediant 9080C with configuration option A, and then:
a. Order the OCP card with Quad SFP+ 10G (LR or SR transceivers).
b. In slot 3, remove the PCIe card or disable it in BIOS settings.
c. In the OCP slot, install the new OCP card.

Mediant 9080C supports up to 12 network interfaces. Therefore, remove the 4 x 1 GbE installed in Slot 3 (or disable it in BIOS settings) and install a new network card with 4 x SFP+ ports in the OCP slot. The new SFP+ ports are indexed GE_9 to GE_12.

You can achieve configuration option C in two ways:

Method 1: Initially order Mediant 9080C with configuration option B, and then:
a. Order two PCIe cards with Dual SFP+ 10G (LR or SR transceivers).
b. In slot 2, replace the existing PCIe card (Quad 1GbE copper) with the new PCIe card with Dual SFP+ 10G.
c. In slot 3, install the second new PCIe card with Dual SFP+ 10G.
Method 2: Initially order Mediant 9080C with configuration option A, and then:
a. Order an OCP card with Quad SFP+ 10G (LR or SR transceivers).
b. Order two PCIe cards with Dual SFP+ 10G (LR or SR transceivers).
c. In slot 2, replace the existing PCIe card (Quad 1GbE copper) with the new PCIe card with Dual SFP+ 10G.
d. In slot 3, install the second PCIe card with Dual SFP+ 10G.
e. In the OCP slot, install the OCP card.
