License Key
The License Key determines the licensed features (e.g., Test Call and voice coders) and various capacity figures (e.g., number of Test Calls and SBC call sessions) that you have ordered for your device.
The local License Key, which is installed on the device through ini file (locally or through the Automatic Update mechanism), contains all the licenses for the ordered features and capacity.
However, capacity licenses for WebRTC, SIPREC and SBC sessions (regular sessions, transcoding sessions, and registered far-end users), you can use AudioCodes OVOC management tool to provide and manage them. OVOC provides various SBC capacity licensing modes, as described in OVOC-Managed Capacity Licenses.

By default, product software installation provides a free trial License Key for device evaluation purposes, which provides the following: |
✔
A maximum of three concurrent call sessions (signaling and media). |
✔
The duration of each call is limited to three minutes (after which the device automatically disconnects the call). |
✔
A maximum of three registered users (far-end users). |
For the device to provide you with your required features and capacity, you need to
purchase a new License Key based on your requirements. To obtain and activate a License Key, see Obtaining License Key for Initial Activation.

From Version 7.2.202, when upgrading the License Key to enable any DSP functionality (including transcoding), the 'SBC Performance Profile' [SBCPerformanceProfile] parameter must be configured to Optimized for Transcoding profile, as the parameter's value is not automatically set after installing such a License Key. If not configured, DSP functionality remains disabled. Therefore, to ensure DSP functionality, upload the new License Key without restarting the device, and then verify that the device is configured to the Optimized-for-Transcoding profile (see Optimizing CPU Cores Usage for a Specific Service). If the device is not configured to the Optimized for Transcoding profile, then configure it. Once configured, restart the device with a save-to-flash for the parameter and the new License Key to take effect. |
